VLCC to foray in Market of Bangladesh

Health and wellness major VLCC is now footing opportunities in Bangladesh. The company is set to open its first manufacturing unit there.

“VLCC already has wellness centres across India but this would be a full-fledged factory unit like that of the big FMCG majors,” said a senior industry official familiar with the development.

Industry officials point out that VLCC has followed leading FMCG companies such as Marico, Emami and Godrej Consumers to explore Bangladesh market.

This initiative is part of its ongoing expansion process across west Asia. The company is looking to invest around $20 million in developing a manufacturing facility in Bahrain. At present, the VLCC group has two factories located at Haridwar and Dehradun, according to senior industry officials.

It is also looking at Africa and is considering a move into Kenya in the near future. VLCC has its directly managed operations across India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, Bahrain, Kuw-ait, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
