Health and beauty salon franchise group Saks is launching its first salon in Kuwait next month with two more and a training academy planned in the Middle East country within three years.
Saks, which has also experienced success with its franchises in India, began in Darlington and will next year celebrate the 40th anniversary of its launch.
Located in Mahboula, the flagship salon spans 2000 square feet on three floors of a new purpose built building.
More than 20 professional hair stylists and beauty therapists from around the world have been recruited for the new salon, which will be operated by the Naiwa General Trading Company.
Lee Williams, operations manager with Naiwa, said: “We’re all excited about introducing such a prestigious and renowned hair and beauty brand to the State of Kuwait. Our residents are vibrant and fashion-conscious, so Saks is the perfect partner for us.”
Saks Design, responsible for Saks UK’s salon interiors and exteriors, has been involved from the outset, ensuring that the salon’s layouts and décor are on brand and in line with the group’s UK operation.
Stephen Kee, managing director at Saks, said: “Our Mumbai salons are a huge success and we’re also established in Dubai, with further openings in other United Arab Emirates countries and Qatar next. Kuwait is a logical addition and has been on our radar for some time now.”
