Cookie Man now to serve fresh-baked cookies in Bangladesh

Australia based fresh-baked cookie business Cookie Man has entered the region of Bangladesh, with the launch of its first open rational outlet in Dhaka. The company claimed in a statement that the response there is welcoming. The newly opened store there will stock the entire range of cookies available in India, which includes cookies, muffins, donuts and brownies, and has received a very encouraging response from customers in Dhaka.

In India, Cookie Man initiated its business in the year 2000 with a premium store of fresh-baked cookies in Chennai. S.B.P. Pattabhi Rama Rao and his family members brought the company in, and acquired the brand rights for India and the subcontinent along with Paracor Capital Advisors.

The brand has witnessed a growth of 15-18%, year on year, over the last three years and is currently available in 60 stores across 24 cities in India. The company expects to grow at 20% over the next three years, a company statement said. About 20% of Cookie Man’s total sales come from airport kiosks and this segment has witnessed a 14% growth over the last year. In addition to cookies, the Cookie Man range includes puffs, brownies, donuts and muffins.

“We expect to reach sales of Rs 5 lakh per month, and plan to expand our presence to other locations, including Sri Lanka,” said Anupam Saluja, CEO, Australian Foods India, which runs Cookie Man in India. Australian Foods is an Indo-Australian joint venture and works on a franchise model and more than half its stores in India are franchised.
