Salsa Wraps to follow franchise way for further expansion

NVJ Foods, which offers Tex-Mex cuisine (Americanised Mexican Food) under the brand Salsa Wraps has decided to adopt the franchise model for expansion. Salsa Wraps, a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) chain, started its operations as a small take away joint from Wodehouse Road, Colaba six months back.
“We have decided to take the franchise model and are looking to set up at least four to six such restaurants by the year end. We have plans to expand the brand in Pune and few states in South through franchise model but that will happen eventually. We just opened one restaurant at Spoons Food Court at Nariman Point, we are on the verge of finalizing another one in South Mumbai by the end of March 2013. Talks are on to open one more outlets in the Western suburbs as well. All these outlets are owned and managed by us.” Rakesh Damani, Promoter, NVJ Foods, said.
Damani added, “There is reasonably good market for such kind of food specially among the youth, which is one of the reasons why we are looking up at various food courts in various malls and multiplexes to reach our target audience. A take away format requires Rs five to ten lakh and minimum 150-200 square feet of carpet area. Besides space and budget, the culture of the city is also an important factor as in terms of whether to have a kiosk format or not in the city.”
Salsa Wraps serves authentic Tex-Mex food, which includes Burritos, Tacos, Quesadillas, Nachos etc. The concept of innovation at Salsa wraps is its highlight, with patrons also having the freedom to experiment by concocting their own meals. Guests can pick from the interesting variety of salsas, beans and the generous assortment of toppings and fillings to whip up a meal that will appease their taste buds.
