Kangaroo Kids lays out Expansion Plan

Kangaroo Kids Education is a pre-school and K12 schooling firm, which eyes an expansion to 350 pre-schools in the next three to five years. The company had expanded to 100 pre-schools by March 2019. Seshasai KVS, CEO, Kangaroo Kids Education (KKEL), said, “The main focus will be on the top 30 cities in India. This is where our major market lies.”

KKEL has also been operating in the K-12 school education space under the umbrella of Billabong High International Schools across India.

Currently, Kangaroo Kids has four schools which are company-owned company-operated schools and is hoping to add 10 such schools in tier 2, tier 3 cities in the next four years.

Seshasai added, “We will be highly selective and will take a call on opening every new school based on the facilities provided by franchise partner and the demographics. The partner should have certain qualities such as a set goal and financial stability.”

A minimum investment of Rs 15 crore is required for setting up a school. The breakeven period in smaller towns is also generally longer than metropolitans.

Going forward, Kangaroo Kids has a bigger goal in mind and is looking to expand its school network in the global market at locations such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Doha, Qatar and Bahrain.
