Google’s Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) 2014 saw more than 80 lakh visits to the site during the three-day event, which ended on Friday night. including the promotion period, there were over 1.4 crore visits — the site was open 14 days prior to the festival
The Great Online Shopping Festival or GOSF, organized by Google aims to encourage and promote online shopping among Indians where in the sellers offers special deals and promotional plans for GOSF
Into it’s third year this time,the deals and offers were even bigger and better. It is one of the highly anticipated shopping event within the Indian ecommerce where the shoppers didn’t feel down.
This year’s GOSF has happened between December 10th to December 12th, and Google had roped in 450 sellers for this mega event. Interestingly, Flipkart has decided not to participate in this year’s GOSF.
Real Estate was one of those popular categories this year, 36 vendors had participated in this event, and offered heavily discounted deals. Tata Housing is one of the prominent participants in this niche, as they had offered properties worth Rs 13 crore under special pricing scheme.
During last year’s GOSF, Tata Housing had sold properties worth Rs 25 crore in which more than 50 apartments and offices were booked during the event, with 40% of the bookings came from Tier 2 cities, and 30% from NRIs.
Brotin Banerjee, managing director and CEO of Tata Housing said, “We received a phenomenal response through our pioneering initiative of online sales of real Estate through our partnership with google last year,”
They have even released a small TV commercial in that regards.
Properties starting from Rs 35 lakh to Rs 3.5 crore were at display at Tata Housing’s section in the GOSF portal. Special payment arrangement and prices have been announced, especially for GOSF.
A separate division of Tata Housing: Tata Value Homes have also offerered special sales of real estate with booking amount as low as Rs 20,000.
Besides Tata Housing, other prominent real estate firms such as Artha Properties, Puravankara, Colliers International, HDFC properties, Brigade Group, Raheja Group and others are also participating with several interesting deals.
In August this year, Tata Housing had partnered with Snapdeal to sell apartments and homes online, with special low booking amount.
It seems real estate is now slowly becoming mainstream ecommerce commodity, as more and more consumers are preferring ecommerce portals and platforms to choose their dream home.
